One hundred years ago, Lenin’s Bolshevik Party led Russia's oppressed masses to a historic victory when they overthrew the Tsarist regime and established the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the world’s first enduring socialist state. The Russian Revolution helped spark a wave of struggle for liberation and socialism that spread across the world. From Cuba, to China, Burkina Faso, Chile, and too many nations to name, the red flag of revolutionary socialism is raised everywhere people fight for their liberation.

How did the people of Russia achieve such an historic victory in such difficult conditions? How did the Bolsheviks win the support of Russia’s multinational masses? After the revolution, how did they handle crucial social questions relating to gender, race, nationality, and government? How can we apply the lessons of the Russian revolution today, as we carry forward the international revolutionary struggle?

Join the Central Indiana branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation as we discuss these questions and more! And while you are there, get your copy of our new book, Storming the Gates: How the Russian Revolution Changed the World.
