Anti-war

Stop U.S. imperialist wars! End colonial occupation!

The Party for Socialism and Liberation stands for the immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan and Iraq, and an end to the U.S./NATO war on Libya. All U.S. military bases in those countries and others should be shut down now. The PSL is a member of the ANSWER Coalition (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), inside which our activists have played an important role in organizing and building mass antiwar demonstrations across the country.

As a coalition, ANSWER has been characterized by its uncompromising opposition to U.S. imperialism, using every opportunity to link the wars on Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya to the occupations of Palestine and Haiti, the threats on Iran and Syria, the continued colonial subjugation of the Philippines and Puerto Rico, and the attacks on workers in the United States.

Immigrant rights placard

Full rights for all immigrants!

Beginning in March 2006, a new civil rights movement - the movement for immigrant rights - was born. Millions upon millions of immigrants and their supporters have taken to the streets in the years since to demand full rights. The Party for Socialism and Liberation has played a major role in organizing and participating in these demonstrations. We advocate full legalization for all immigrants and an immediate end to all racist raids and deportations targeting immigrant workers and families.

No human being is illegal. All attempts to create a second-class of workers - whether as undocumented immigrants or as guest workers - is an attack on the working class as a whole.

Labor

Labor: Better wages, benefits and working conditions

The PSL fully supports every workers' struggle for better wages, benefits and working conditions. We were on the frontlines in Wisconsin in 2011 and have participated in strikes and labor struggles since our founding. The overall condition of the working class is in large part determined by the strength of the labor unions, which despite their weakened state and their constant misleadership, are the only protection for workers against the ruthlessness of capitalism.

Our members are required to join labor unions if they exist at their workplace. We approach all labor struggles with the motto: "If you don't have a union, fight for a union! If you have a union, fight to make your union fight!" Organize the unorganized!

Community activism: Stop racism, bigotry and attacks on social programs

No political party can speak for the interests of the working class if it is not based in working-class communities. National and international struggles may receive more media exposure, but they alone will not significantly raise the consciousness of the working and oppressed people of this country. These struggles must be fused with the day-to-day struggles that characterize life under capitalism.

Our Party supports and participates in struggles of all shapes and sizes, whether it's against racism, bigotry, police brutality, budget cuts, or for health care, LGBT equality, education or tenant rights. The working class will not stand with a Party that does not stand with them in the fight for better living conditions.

Defend revolutionary Cuba!

The Party for Socialism and Liberation considers the defense of revolutionary Cuba one of the principal responsibilities of socialists in the United States. Since its 1959 revolution, Cuba has provided the world with a stirring example of what a people can accomplish once the working class seizes political power from the tiny minority of capitalists. The PSL participates in campaigns to free the Cuban Five, to extradite the terrorist Luis Posada Carriles and to end the U.S.-imposed blockade of Cuba.

Although isolated and attacked by the United States, and despite the economic underdevelopment inherited from its colonial past, revolutionary Cuba has eliminated illiteracy, fostered cultural life, promoted equality and provided free health care for all.

Palestine

Free Palestine!

The Party for Socialism and Liberation stands for the right of return for the over six million Palestinian refugees, the immediate end to the occupation of Palestine, and the end of the apartheid system on which the state of Israel was founded, and still rests. The PSL has helped organize demonstrations against the U.S.-Israeli invasions of Gaza and Lebanon and has organized educational events about the Palestinian liberation struggle across the country.

Our Party members have played an important role in linking the freedom struggle for Palestine with the struggles against U.S. imperialist wars on Iraq and Afghanistan.
