Sacramento: Letter Writing to Prison Strikers. Free 'em all!

October 18, 2016 at 6:00pm - 8pm

On Tuesday October 18th (also the birthday of Jalil Muntaqimhttp://www.freejalil.com/) we will be gathering to write letters to the courageous prison strikers and political prisoners that have been unjustly imprisoned for their opposition to the racist capitalist system.

"In one voice, rising from the cells of long term solitary confinement, echoed in the dormitories and cell blocks from Virginia to Oregon, we prisoners across the United States vow to finally end slavery in 2016."

These words begin a call to action from prisoners across the United States calling for a national prison strike starting on September 9, the 45th anniversary of the uprising in Attica, New York State's most notorious prison: "On September 9th of 2016, we will begin an action to shut down prisons all across this country. We will not only demand the end to prison slavery, we will end it ourselves by ceasing to be slaves."

Join us at the PSL office near Florin and 29th so that we can show our sisters and brothers on the inside that they are not alone. There will also be a birthday card to sign for several different political prisoners. Share a kind word or just let them know why you struggle and that they are not alone.
