Chicago: The Struggle Against Police Terror Reignites // Understanding Bernie Endorsing Clinton

July 16, 2016 at 6:00pm - 8pm

Join us for a discussion of two major developments ...

(1) The Struggle Against Police Terror with 2012 PSL presidential candidate Peta Lindsay:

In Chicago on July 11 3,000 people were in the streets for Black Lives Matter. The movement, which is very young and multi-national, has made a clear statement that masses of people are unafraid and ready to struggle against racist police terror. For five days prior to July 11 people were in the streets all over the country. Nothing has stopped the movement. Not the heat, not the rain, not the cops.

Why are people fighting back? It’s 2016 and Black, Brown and Native people continue to be lynched in the streets while racist cops go unpunished. From Washington to City Hall, the powers that be spend money on jails and war instead of providing jobs and education and ending poverty.

As the Black Lives Matter movement reignites, join us for a forum & discussion about how we can build an anti-racist movement powerful enough and organized enough to stop police terror and change this rotten system.

(2) Bernie Endorses Clinton

Millions of people have voted against the status quo. Millions of people are ready to struggle for progressive change. What do we do now? We need a plan to transform our lives and the planet. We need a revolution!

Also, hear a report on the arrest and targeting of PSL presidential candidate Gloria La Riva, who was arrested while participating in a protest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
