Sacramento: Operation PUSH & Libya - The Abolition of Modern Day Slavery

January 21, 2018 at 2:00pm - 4pm

Join the PSL as we read and discuss the issue of worldwide enslavement of Black people from the shores of Florida to the coast of Libya.

Slavery both in the US prison system & in Africa is rooted in the corporate capitalist drive for profits and the need to constantly extract more wealth from the labor of our communities.

The recently declared Operation PUSH in Florida is one attempt at pushing back against these forces by declaring a prison strike until their demands are met.

Materials for letter writing will also be available following the study session.

Those resisting the slave trade and NATO occupation of Libya are another example of pushing back.
