In recent weeks the Israeli government has made alarming moves that indicate a serious offensive against the indigenous Palestinians on the horizon. The Israeli government codified the apartheid character of the state by passing laws that specifically declare that no self-determination will ever be granted to the Palestinian people while endorsing the expansion of settlements across Palestinian land in the West Bank. At the same time that these laws were passed the Israeli government carried out a bloody assault on Gaza with military leaders declaring their intention to "conquer" the entire strip where Palestinians are held in the millions as prisoners under a complete blockade maintained by the Israeli military. The extrajudicial murder of Palestinians on the street by Zionist settlers continues to rise dramatically and a recent attempt by activists to break the blockade on Gaza was violently thwarted by the Israeli military.
Now more than ever it is necessary to analyze, discuss, and take action to defend the Palestinian people from the expansionist and genocidal war that Israel began against the Palestinian people decades ago. Richard Becker, author of Palestine, Israel & the U.S. Empire, will join us for a report after his return from the Arab International Forum for Justice in Palestine in Beirut, where over 550 delegates joined from more than 30 countries to build the movement to win Palestinian self-determination.
