Climate change is here. And it is undeniably human-made. The last two decades have been the hottest on record with CO2 levels in the global atmosphere climbing higher every year (currently at 410 ppm, a far cry from the 350 ppm which signifies a stable atmosphere).

Under the incredibly wasteful system of capitalism that puts quarterly profits above all else, corporations continue to overproduce unnecessary goods far beyond what the earth can sustain.

The biggest contributors to the worldwide crisis have taken no truly meaningful action, with the U.S. taking the lead on retrograde policies and housing the biggest polluter and unregulated entity on the planet, the Pentagon.

The solution goes far beyond individuals using electric vehicles, rooftop solar and recycling. The crisis stems from the very way our society is organized: capitalism puts maximizing profits first vs. socialism that puts meeting the needs of the people and planet first.

Facing the climate crisis under capitalism, in reality, means “survival of the richest,” (i.e., Hurricane Katrina, Sandy, Harvey …). Under a socialist system, all of society’s resources and knowledge are pooled to mitigate and adapt to the crisis, leaving no one to fend for themselves.

Socialism is the only real path to survive the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced. Join us in the struggle for socialism and a future worth fighting for! Together we can win!
